I’ve been quieter on Garlic Delight recently because all my energy is going into figuring out how to make videos to deliver more valuable content.
After much thought, Alex and I created our first video because we noticed people prefer watching videos.
If you missed our video post, here it is: How to Open a Pomegranate
So, if you’ve been wondering why I’ve been quiet, it’s because the good stuff is simmering in the background.
Where the Magic Happens
It takes a lot of work to make just one video. In some ways, producing a video is faster than writing a story for me because I’m a visual person. I’ve always found multimedia and video production easier than writing. But easier =/= faster. Easier means it comes more naturally and it’s not so painful. But I’m definitely slower at making video than publishing stories and recipes because there are a lot more moving parts, including relearning to use a camera, recording good audio, editing the video.
There’s no cheating. I can’t use Word spell check to make the editing go faster 😉
I’ll continue logging in my virtual notebook and leaving lil’ breadcrumbs to document what I’m up to. I’ll also try to keep it food focused as I know most people don’t care how the sausage is made. They just want to taste the spicy wiener with plenty of ketchup on a soft brioche bun.
Alright, back to the fire for me.
If you like the videos more, let me know. If you prefer the written content, let me know too. And since I’m probably just talking to myself because not many (if any) people read the blog now, you know I do this because I love it. Even if no one were reading 🙂
